For example, a 54-year-old worker could still work for more than 10 more years, she noted. “And if you feel that you have already reached your peak in your 40s, there could be some concerns.”
Unfortunately, PETA feels it is a “kindness” to euthanize homeless pets, and they do so at a staggering rate. Their shelters kill vastly more cats and dogs than do those run by the ASPCA. PETA shelters have been known to euthanize over 90% of the animals that are rendered into their care, adopting out only a small handful.
PETA scientists helped persuade the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to end toxicity tests on mammals. The EPA will be preventing countless animals from being poisoned in cruel chemical tests, after almost 20 years of work by PETA scientists. The agency announced that it would end toxicity tests on mammals by 2035, and with some more work
To preface, we appreciate the work PETA has done with bringing awareness to eradicating animal testing. As EthicalElephant.com has said, with over 1,900 brands certified by their Beauty Without Bunnies program, they're certainly one of the most well known cruelty-free programs. However, we would like to question the premise itself.
Animal Rights Uncompromised: Predator-Reintroduction Programs. PETA does not support predator-reintroduction programs for myriad reasons. Animals can very often escape artificial boundaries and become a “nuisance,” leading to their being poisoned, hit by cars, or shot. In failed attempts to escape, they might become entangled in barbed wire
PETA has also objected to the use of certain animal-related phrases and has provided alternative phrases that they believe are more inclusive for everyone. For example, ‘Bring home the bacon’ should be replaced with ‘Bring home the bagels’; ‘Kill two birds with one stone’ becomes ‘Feed two birds with one scone’, and many more.
